What do Propane Tanks and Sneakers have in Common?

Step right up, folks, to the Recycle Maui County tent and find out! (Hint: Propane tanks and old sneakers are the latest items that can be recycled right here on Maui!) Stop by and talk with us about the County's new plans for CURBSIDE RECYCLING, a used motor oil program, appliance recycling, working and non-working electronics recycling, and much more!

The Recycle Maui County tent can be found in its usual spot under the big tree between the joy zone and the food tent, and this year we will feature new displays and giveaways. Everyone enjoys our spin-the-wheel game because EVERYONE IS A WINNER! You can win shoelaces, pencils and bookmarks, all made from recycled materials! Take our "Bag People Pledge" and receive a FREE, re-usable grocery bag. One per family, please, and help Maui reduce its plastic bag consumption.

• Did you know that Airgas/Gaspro Maui will now take and recycle 20 lb propane tanks for FREE! No purchase necessary! Learn how a win-win partnership was formed with SOS Metals Island Recycling and the County to make this happen!
• Learn how your old sneakers can be turned into asphalt playground covering! Find out where to take those old sneakers and give them an entirely new life.
• Enter to win a FREE refurbished laptop computer! (no need to be present to win)
• Sign up for a home composting workshop.
